A Lasting Legacy
Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is America's oldest conservation and recreation organization. AMC is dedicated to protecting, enjoying, and understanding the outdoors. We envision a world where being outdoors is an integral part of people’s lives; where our natural resources are healthy, loved and protected. Working in America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, AMC values respect for people and nature, lifelong engagement, prepared leadership, intrinsic worth of the outdoors, and fun.
Staff-led
AMC’s professional outdoor guides lead all-inclusive trips for all ages, skill levels, and interests. Whether it’s conquering the White Mountain 4,000-footers, skiing lodge-to-lodge in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness, or hiking from basecamp to AMC’s famous high mountain huts, AMC’s staff-led, guided adventures offer an outdoor experience for everyone. These pre-packaged trips include everything you need, from food and lodging to safety training and most of the necessary gear.
